thank you @eternalwritingstudent for the tag!! i answered these questions as myself, but i loooooovelovelove the writer edition of answering as a character.

i'll be answering these as Marisa from So It Goes. to help me figure out how in-depth to answer, i've decided the scenario is Paige, her friend who is an aspiring influencer, is interviewing the group at the vacation home near the start of the novel as a fun game for her social media.

1. Are you named after anyone?

"Mom had a friend in grade school named Marissa, but it was spelled differently. She did choose Laura, my middle name, after seeing the movie."

2. When was the last time you cried?

"That's a bit personal, Paige."

3. Do you have kids?

"Why are you asking me these questions? You already know. Okay, sorry. No, no kids."

4. Do you use sarcasm?

"I guess? If I'm pissed off, sure."

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

"I like to look at what they're wearing. It says a lot about them."

6. What's your eye color?

"Aren't you filming this? They can see it, right? I don't know. Brown."

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

"Oh, I love scary movies. Slashers are my favorite. You'd think it's a happy ending, but then you find out the killer lived."

8. Any special talents?

"I can curl my tongue!"

9. Where were you born?

"Well, I'm from Cincinnati. I'm not sure if I know the hospital, though."

10. What are your hobbies?

"I spend most of my free time gardening. I'm trying to learn to knit, though."

11. Have you any pets?

"I've always wanted a cat but I haven't found the right one yet. I want, like, the stupidest cat alive. Give me a cat with absolutely no thoughts."

12. What sports do you play/have played?

"I tried soccer, but I fell way too much. I'm too uncoordinated for sports."

13. How tall are you?

"I know I'm tall for a woman, but you don't have to harp on it. Five foot, eight inches."

14. Favorite subject in school?

"Biology was cool. I wish I'd taken anatomy and physiology, but I've tried to teach myself on the side a little. You know I majored in Women's Studies, right?"

"Well, that's a rude question to ask right now."

i'm going to cheat a little and post songs that remind me of the relationship between Marisa and Isaiah, the main character and love interest from So It Goes. you'll see why immediately:

So It Goes - Mac Miller (lmao. yeah. this song is actually the reason this book exists -- someday, i will make a full post spilling my guts about this, but suffice to say for now a real life experience with this song inspired the novel, and Vonnegut is also a historical influence on me)
